The Ga East Municipal Assembly has purchased two new vehicles to augment existing ones to facilitate its operations.
The two vehicles, Ford Ranger Pick Ups, 2016 automatic and manual transmission models, were purchased through the Assembly’s Internally Generated Fund (IGF) and District Assemblies’ Common Fund (DACF), for administrative use and revenue mobilization.
The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Hon. John Kwao Sackey, presenting the keys of the vehicles to the Municipal Coordinating Director (MCD), Alhaji Shehu Awudu Kadiri and Municipal Finance Officer (MFO), Mr Francis Adu-Marfo, respectively, asked for proper care to be taken of the vehicles and maintained properly at all times to ensure their longevity and utmost usefulness.
He noted that there was the need to improve upon revenue collection to propel the Assembly to deliver quality service to the people, thus, the decision to purchase the vehicles.
Alhaji Shehu Awudu Kadiri, MCD and Mr Francis Adu-Marfo both promised to put the cars to good use and ensure that the Assembly reaps maximum benefits from them.
The MCE also charged the officers who facilitated the purchase of the vehicles to work harder and strive to purchase a bus to transport staff and for other administrative needs.
