Revenue Collectors of the Ga East Municipal Assembly have undergone a 2-day training in Data Collection.
The training forms part of the reforms taken by the Assembly since the coming into office of the new administration to enhance revenue mobilization.
The training, facilitated by NdiGIS, a software solutions provider, which specializes in Geographic Information System (GIS), was to equip the Revenue Collectors with the requisite knowledge and skills in data collection on businesses.
The participants were trained in the use of a mobile software application to collect data and also on ethics in revenue collection.
Opening the training programme, the Municipal Coordinating Director (MCD), Mr. Joshua Adams Asihene, on behalf of the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Hon. Janet Tulasi Mensah, underscored the importance of the training to the revenue mobilization drive of the Assembly.
He charged the participants to heed to instructions from Management and not act on their own accord, cautioning them to desist from any form of malpractice which will have negative consequences on the Assembly’s revenue mobilization and put their jobs in jeopardy.
The training is geared towards gathering of data on all businesses in the municipality to broaden the revenue-base of the Assembly and improve upon revenue collection.
